The Rhino version of 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY includes the original movie music in the order in which it appeared in the movie, along with extra material including the Sudwesfunk Orchestra's version of 'Thus Spake Zarathustra,' which appear on MGM's original soundtrack but not in the film. Includes liner notes by Robert C. Cumbow. クリストファー・ノーランとワーナー・ブラザース監修、製作50周年記念「2001年宇宙の旅」70mm版の公開に合わせて、装いも新たにサウンドトラックが再リリース！
トラックリスト『2001年宇宙の旅』（1968）の製作50周年を記念して、映画『ダンケルク』のクリストファー・ノーラン監督とワーナー・ブラザースの監修により、オリジナルネガから新たにプリントされた70mm版。デジタル処理を介さずに作成されたもので、1968年の公開当時と同様の映像、音、上映方法で鑑賞できる希少な機会となる。
『2001年宇宙の旅』の70mm上映、および新バージョン製作に携わったことについて、ノーランは以下のコメントを発表している。
