Quartet Records, in collaboration with GDM and Sony EMI Music Italy, presents the premiere vinyl edition of the iconic Piero Piccioni score for PLAYGIRL ’70, a dramatic-erotic vehicle directed by Federico Chentrens, starring Ira Von Furstenberg, Luciana Paluzzi and Jean Sobieski. The film is about Jane, a young and fascinating model who participates in a cruise with some representatives of a rich and corrupt world connected to the cinema business. Jane’s beauty brings her only bitterness and disappointment.
The wonderful kaleidoscope of lounge oddness favors the composer’s jazz roots, shakes and intimate organ work, but also features delightful bursts of source music as well as the romantic side of maestro Piccioni.
Released on CD twice (but only in Japan), this forgotten Piero Piccioni masterpiece was never issued on LP, making it one of the most fan-requested titles in this format. This limited LP edition, pressed on audiophile 140 GM white vinyl, has been specially restored and mastered by Chris Malone from the stereo master tapes. The luxurious artwork features the artistry of Luca Barcellona.

トラックリストイタリア、フランス、アメリカで共同製作され、長年モリコーネとコラボレートしてきたロベルト・ファエンツァが監督を務めたこの映画の主演は、ジョニー・ロッテン（セックス・ピストルズのパンク・スターとして有名）、ハーヴェイ・カイテル、ニコール・ガルシア。筋書きは、汚職警官の二人組が、ニューヨークのアップタウンのアパートに違法な現金を使い込むというもの。
モリコーネのスコアは、この作曲家の豊穣なポリス・スリラー時代と、1980年代初頭にベルモンドのフランス警察でアンリ・ヴェルヌイユとコラボレートしたことに由来する。この音楽は、モリコーネが通常、犯罪映画のスコアの蒸し暑いカオスのためにとっておいた、サイケデリックで、パーカッションを多用し、しばしばオスティナートをベースにしたキューを特徴としている。
1983年にジェネラル・ミュージックからフランスとドイツで10曲収録のLP盤をリリース。今回の新盤では全16曲のフルスコアを収録。
