THE STORY: Santa Claus' wish comes true when he accidentally bumps his head and starts believing he's SuperKlaus. With the help of Billie and Leo his elf-xecutive assistant, SuperKlaus will take on a toy-obsessed businessman to save Christmas.
THE SCORE: "Animation, one of the most complex and demanding genres within the noble art of scoring, has always had a special place in my heart. Writing the score for SuperKlaus was a huge challenge. Our film, aimed at families and children, presents nowadays situations, such as the use of new technologies by the young ones, or the challenge of family conciliation. We have a very special superhero, Santa Klaus, who has to defend Christmas values and his mission, endangered by a heartless villain. This unscrupulous manufacturer wants to sell his terrible quality toys, aiming to take the place of our protagonist by promoting excessive consumerism. It was a great pleasure to manage and work on a powerful musical production that featured a great symphony orchestra, my beloved City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom I have collaborated so many times. The symphonic score is full of emotions: magic, tenderness, comedy, action and adventure. It is always a challenge for the composer to balance all these emotional mood changes. It was a great pleasure to work with my friend Steven Majaury, co-director of the film. Being a great film music lover and expert, he is very aware of its narrative power and he values it greatly. His music for The Mauthausen Photographer was nominated for ‘Best Orchestral Score' at the XI Gaudi Awards and the II Spanish Audiovisual Music Awards. El cuco received the Best Music award at the 24th Fantastic Costa del Sol International Film Festival in 2023. As a conductor, Navarro is considered nowadays one of the most important batons in the universe of film music. He is also a main promoter of the genre as the director and founder of Fimucite, the worldwide known Tenerife International Film Music Festival.
