THE STORY: Amy and Mike unearth a centuries-old curse when they decide to watch an exclusive film reel. The duo must track down an infamous filmmaker and navigate a town of hungry zombies to save the world.
THE SCORE: “It’s impossible to overstate how much it means to me to have scored this amazing film starring two of my very favourite actors, Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase. The films they’ve created individually and together literally defined my earliest memories of absolutely loving movies. One of the challenges when scoring a new film is honing in on the overall sound, instrumentation, and approach for how the music can best support the storytelling. Fortunately after seeing the film for the first time and speaking with Peter about his tremendous vision, all of these aspects were immediately clear, and I was able to excitedly dive in. At the top of the film we hear a large orchestra playing in a 1950’s horror film style, and we soon realize this is for the film within the film. Shortly thereafter, we hear a small town heartfelt theme indicating we’re now in the real world of Carverville. However, once the film within the film permeates into the real Carverville, the score follows the same journey, and the large 1950’s horror film style completely takes over Carverville itself. So much fun! I hope you enjoy exploring this new reality as much as I did when composing the score of Zombie Town!” ? Ryan Shore
