フランスのレアなサウンドトラックをコンパイルした作品集第8弾。今回は1982年から1994年にかけて作曲されたフランスのサウンドトラック6作品「宮廷円舞曲」、「PRIEZ POUR NOUS」（いずれもレイモン・アレッサンドリーニ作曲）、「L’ADDITION」、「美しさと哀しみと」（いずれもジャン＝クロード・プティ作曲）、「L'AMOUR PROPRE NE LE RESTE JAMAIS TRES LONGTEMPS」（ジャン＝クロード・ヴァニエ作曲）、「SALUT… J’ARRIVE」（クリスチャン・ペガン作曲）を収録。

最初のディスクは、レイモン・アレッサンドリーニによる2つのサウンドトラックを収録。現代音楽とルネサンス音楽をミックスした特異な時代劇『宮廷円舞曲』と、軽快で洗練された風刺的な『Priez pour nous』。2枚目のCDは、1980年代のジャン＝クロード・プティのサウンドトラックを2作品収録。クラシックのタッチとポップ／ロックの雰囲気がミックスされたパンチのあるスコアの犯罪ドラマ『L'Addition』と、実験音楽とロマンティックな曲がミックスされた意外性のあるスコアの苦悩のラブストーリー『美しさと哀しみと』。3枚目のディスクは2人のアレンジャーに捧げられている： ジャン＝クロード・ヴァニエの『L'amour propre...』はカラフルなアレンジが施されたお茶目なスコア、クリスチャン・ペガンの『Salut...j'arrive』は異なる音楽スタイル（ジャズ、ファンク、ワルツ、トーチ・ソング）のコメディ・スコアである。

ディスク1はスコアリング・セッションのエレメントからリマスター。ディスク2と3はリマスターされたLP盤から。16ページのブックレット封入。300枚限定盤。

Music Box Records proudly presents a 3-CD set featuring seven French soundtracks composed between 1982 and 1994: Dames galantes (Gallant Ladies, 1990) and Priez pour nous (Pray for Us, 1994) (both composed by Raymond Alessandrini), L’Addition (The Caged Heart, 1984) and Tristesse et Beaute (Sadness and Beauty, 1985) (both composed by Jean-Claude Petit), L’amour propre ne le reste jamais tres longtemps (1985) (composed by Jean-Claude Vannier) and Salut… j’arrive (1982) (composed by Christian Pegand).

The first disc features two soundtracks by Raymond Alessandrini: the singular period drama Dames galantes mixing contemporary and Renaissance music and the satirical Priez pour nous with its light-hearted and sophisticated score. The second CD features two Jean-Claude Petit’s soundtracks from the 1980s: the crime drama L’Addition with its punchy score mixing a classical touch and a pop/rock vibe and the tormented love story Tristesse et Beaute with its surprising score mixing experimental music and romantic pieces. The third disc is dedicated to two arrangers: Jean-Claude Vannier’s L’amour propre... featuring a mischievous score with colorful arrangements and Christian Pegand’s comedy score for Salut… j’arrive with different musical styles (jazz, funk, waltz and a torch song).

Disc 1 has been remastered from the scoring sessions elements. Discs 2 and 3 features the remastered LP presentations. This 3-CD box set includes a 16-page booklet with liner notes by Alberic Marsolet, discussing the films and the scores. The release is limited to 300 units.
