フランスのレアなサウンドトラックをコンパイルした作品集第7弾。今回は1980年から1984年にかけて作曲されたフランスのサウンドトラック7作品「Les Fourberies de Scapin」（ジャン・ブシェティ作曲）、「Le Fou du roi」（ドミニク・ペリエとサム・バーネット共同作曲）、「Exterieur, nuit」、「Polar」（いずれもカール・ハインツ・シェーファー作曲）、「Les Fausses Confidences」、「Le C?ur a l'envers」、「Le bahut va craquer」（すべてジャン・ムジー作曲）を収録。

最初のディスクは、2つの時代劇映画に捧げられた2枚のリマスターLPのリイシュー。このプログラムでは、モリエールの戯曲を映画化したジャン・ブシェティの作品と、スワッシュバックラー映画のパロディを作曲したドミニク・ペリエとサム・バーネットの作品を取り上げている。2枚目のCDは、カール・ハインツ・シェーファーがジャック・ブラル監督のために作曲した2作品で、洗練された無調の弦楽器、バンドネオン、サックス、ハーモニカ、ソロ・ヴァイオリン、幽玄な歌声で、彼の類まれな歌声を際立たせている。3枚目のディスクはジャン・ムジーに捧げられたもので、映画とテレビのための多作な編曲家・作曲家である彼の3つのスコアのリマスターLPリイシューを収録し、古典的バロック感覚、優しい雰囲気、軽快なメロディーなど、彼の音楽の多様性を披露している。

In collaboration with Warner Chappell Music France, BMG and Jean Musy, Music Box Records proudly presents a 3-CD set featuring seven French soundtracks composed between 1980 and 1984: Les Fourberies de Scapin (composed by Jean Bouchety), Le Fou du roi (co-composed by Dominique Perrier and Sam Bernett), Exterieur, nuit and Polar (both composed by Karl-Heinz Schafer) and Les Fausses Confidences, Le C?ur a l'envers and Le bahut va craquer (all composed by Jean Musy).

The first disc features two remastered LP reissues dedicated to two period films. This program highlights the work of Jean Bouchety for an adaptation of Moliere’s play and that of Dominique Perrier and Sam Bernett for the swashbuckler movie parody: classical and traditional music with twirling tarantellas and other dance tunes, as well as epic pieces. The second CD features two inspired scores by Karl-Heinz Schafer for director Jacques Bral, underlining his unusual voice with sophisticated and atonal strings, bandoneon, saxophone, harmonica, solo violin and ethereal singing. The third disc is dedicated to Jean Musy, a prolific arranger and composer for cinema and television, featuring the remastered LP reissues of his three scores and showcasing his musical diversity: a classical baroque sensibility, a tender-hearted atmosphere and a light-hearted melody.

This remastered 3-CD box set includes a 16-page booklet with liner notes by Nicolas Magenham, discussing the films and the scores. The release is limited to 350 units.
