A film about madness. And the obsessive music of Andrzej Korzy?ski, combining diabolical motifs of flutes, distorted guitars and synthesizers with bucolic images for a string orchestra. A phenomenal soundtrack, which is a summary of the composer's artistic explorations from the 1970s.
Although the film itself is somewhat forgotten today, the music is one of the most important in Andrzej Korzy?ski's oeuvre - also according to the composer himself. "The Beast" sums up the entire 70s, showing both the composer's classical inspirations (Mahler!) and the constant search for new colors and harmonies in contemporary instruments. Anxiety and horror, pauses full of uncertainty, a diabolical flute, an overdriven guitar - all this can be heard in the opening "In Darkness". Further on, you can hear numerous transformations of these terrifying motifs, filled with the sonic magma of synthesizers and drums, but also completely different, idyllic pieces arranged for orchestra. There is even a ghostly waltz!
"The Beast" is released for the first time on disc, remastered from the original tapes from the composer's archive. The booklet includes a comprehensive essay on the film and music, posters, stills and photos of the tapes.

『BESTIA (BEAST)』
