The album "Mam tu swoj dom (I Have My Home Here)" presents previously unpublished recordings of film music by Krzysztof Komeda, which - as it turns out - in short, intimate forms arranged for unusual instrumental ensembles, found himself as at ease as in jazz.
Krzysztof Komeda's film music is still, to some extent, undiscovered land. In addition to timeless and legendary works ("Knife in the Water", "Innocent Sorcerers" or "Hands Up", to name just a few of the titles made in Poland) there are films that are completely forgotten today, which after their cinema premiere rarely returned to the screens . One such image is Julian Dziedzina's "I Have My Home Here", which is an intimate, moral study of human attitudes in the contemporary Polish countryside. Krzysztof Komeda prepared an equally intimate musical illustration for this painting, modest in instrumentation. As if on purpose he imposed limitations on himself, looking for the most interesting chords in the available colors. And he undoubtedly succeeded in phrases full of anxiety, reverie or joy. The music to W?odzimierz Haupe's film "Clothes almost new" (also dealing with rural themes), which supplements this album, was in a similar mood.
