This CD was made from the stereo master tapes from the 1971 recording session. Gianfranco Plenizio composed two elegant orchestral soundtrack pieces with a lounge atmosphere, using a solo instrument and the beautiful voice of Edda Dell’Orso. The protagonists of the two films Vanina and Paola, are filmed with alternating main scores which go from mysterious and suspenseful to danceable with a Latin flavor. For “Le Lys De Mer” C.A.M. had prepared an LP which never saw the light of day.

Plot:
Two young girls, Vanina (Andre) and Juliette (Caron), arrive in Sardegna for vacation. They are in short supply of money and accommodation and decide to spend their vacation in an alternative way and stay at a fisherman’s small house. Vanina can’t stop thinking about a tragedy that happened to her when she was a child. Some criminals broke into her house and raped her and killed her mother. The experience left Vanina shocked and sexually repressed and she’s convinced she can only make love in a brutal way. Her first love-making experience happens on a deserted beach following a ritual which she elaborately sets up and forces her occasional companion to take part in. Now she is finally freed from her obsession and leaves the island with Juliette.

Plot:
The beautiful Paola is found next to the body of her husband, Giorgio, with a smoking gun still in her hand. At the police station she retraces her life from her wedding day to the day of his death.
Giorgio was a brilliant young man working in the advertising industry who found it hard to establish himself. Paola tried to help him by finding a job at an art gallery owned by Anna. Anna, appearing to be friendly and helpful, convinced Paola to buy various luxurious clothes with deferred payments to help her fit in during Giorgio’s work parties.
Paola’s debt eventually reached a considerable amount and Anna demanded an immediate payment in full. Since Paola was unable to pay up, she suggested becoming a prostitute. Anna accepted her offer and soon began earning a considerable amount of money from Paola’s sleazy activities. When Paola realized her husband had known all along about her debts and prostitution and was just using her to satisfy his own ambitions, she killed him. ---レーベルより
