The Holiday has become a staple of the Christmas season and the soundtrack is being released for the first time on LP, pressed on snow white vinyl. The music was arranged by Hans Zimmer, one of the titans of modern day film composing. Zimmer has composed music for over 150 films including The Lion King, (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Original Score), Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, Gladiator, Inception, Dunkirk, and The Dark Knight. He has also won four Grammy Awards.

トラックリストロンドンの新聞社に勤めるアイリスは、未だに忘れられずにいた元恋人の婚約発表を目の前で見せられ動揺する。一方、ロサンジェルスで映画の予告編製作会社を経営するアマンダは、相手の浮気が原因で同棲中の恋人とケンカ別れしてしまう。そんな傷心の２人は、インターネットを介して出会い、“ホーム・エクスチェンジ”することに。それは、お互いの家を交換し、相手の家具や車を自由に使えるという休暇の過ごし方。こうして、まったく違う環境で２週間のクリスマス休暇を送ることになったアイリスとアマンダ。やがて、アイリスはアマンダの仕事仲間マイルズと、一方のアマンダはアイリスの兄グラハムとそれぞれ出会い、そして恋に落ちるのだが…。
