Elmer Bernstein fans are in for a good dose of nirvana with this very special release.

Elmer Bernstein's unused, penultimate film score, Gangs of New York, would have been a major and historic release all by itself. Instead, we have turned this into the biggest release of unused film music ever. The Journey of Natty Gann and The Scarlet Letter are both included here as we fill four CDs with Bernstein greatness!

Gangs of New York is the Martin Scorsese epic from 2002 that starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Daniel Day Lewis. The Journey of Natty Gann is the Disney adventure from 1985 which starred Meredith Salinger in the title role. The Scarlet Letter was the 1995 Miramax film that starred Demi Moore. Elmer Bernstein wrote exceptional scores for all of them but none were used. This set will be a major revelation. The Scarlet Letter, in particular, is likely to join many Bernstein favorite lists. It truly shows the composer at his best. And hearing Gangs of New York, finally, will make clear why Elmer wanted it released so badly!
