Ayumi Yamagishi, who had bet everything on being popular to marry a high-caliber man and secure a stable life, succeeded in her efforts and began dating Katsuo Ebihara. However, once they started dating, she gradually lost sight of herself because she cooked elaborate meals for Katsuo and acted like the "boyfriend-first" girlfriend. Katsuo, with his patriarchal mindset that "cooking is a woman's job," often criticizes Ayumi's home-cooked meals, though he means no harm and speaks out of concern for her. A confident man who believes himself flawless, he proposes to Ayumi in the most perfect way possible... only to receive an unexpected "No" in response. What future awaits this seemingly perfect couple as they drift further apart? A romantic comedy about growth and rebirth for a couple, beginning with a breakup, that uses "cooking" as a catalyst to reexamine what was once taken for granted. Based on the manga "Then You Try Cooking" (Bunkasha) by Natsuko Taniguchi, winner of the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Newcomer Award. Music by Takahiro Kaneko, a member of Kome Kome Club who has composed music for numerous TV dramas and films.
