GODZILLA VS MEGARON / GODZILLA VS GIGANREX

Original soundtracks for two short films directed by Takuya Kaminishi, an up-and-coming director taking on Godzilla, are now available!

Backed by Toho's GEMSTONE production label, "Godzilla vs. Megalon," which features Megalon on the 50th anniversary of his birth, is a monster battle teamed up with Akihiro Shibata, a visual creator who gained attention for his "Gifu Godzilla. The film currently has nearly 5 million views on YouTube, and was released in theaters in June as one of the omnibus film "GEMNIBUS vol. 1".
The music is a stereo soundtrack newly produced by Tsubasa Handa, an up-and-coming composer who arranged the music of Akira Ifukube and Riichiro Manabe. The music by Takayuki Hattori also appears in the film. (The original monaural recording is also included as a bonus.)

In addition, the music by Akira Ifukube and Reijiro Koroku from the Heisei series work was used in the previous "Godzilla vs. Giganrex," which has received over 10 million views on YouTube. Beethoven's piano sonata was used for the climax, and the soundtrack disc this time features Wilhelm Kemp's soundtrack from Deutsche Grammophon.

The artwork continues the trend of the "Godzilla Complete Works" series released to commemorate the 70th anniversary. The theater billboard-style jacket, which expresses the Showa and Heisei eras, is designed to evoke the image of viewing the delivery of 2025. On the other hand, the double-jacket specification reproduces the Showa era style as well.

"Godzilla vs. Megalon" includes a new STEREO soundtrack arranged by Tsubasa Handa (original MONO soundtrack is included as a bonus track).
Some MONO/STEREO soundtracks from the "Godzilla Complete Works" series are included.
Included Wilhelm Kemp's performance of "Moonlight" 3rd movement used in "Godzilla vs. Megalon".

Born in 1987, Takuya Kaminishi joined Shirogumi Inc. in 2013 and is a CG director.
He worked as a character model supervisor and CG director for "Shin Ultraman" and Godzilla modeling/compositing for "Shin Godzilla". He has also participated in "The Complete Parasite", "Godzilla -1.0", and many other games and music videos.
