This album was Momo Kodama's first ECM recording. It couples Ravel's “Mirror” with works by two contemporary composers who were strongly influenced by Ravel. A small Toru Takemitsu work is interspersed with “Elderberry,” Messiaen's best and greatest piano work. As Messiaen is her most important repertoire, this recording shows ECM's high expectations and her strong enthusiasm. Recorded September 2012 in Neumarkt
