A couple who have lost their daughter experiences a terrifying nightmare in Venice. This is an occult suspense thriller set in the watery city of Venice by Nicholas Roeg, a former cinematographer and later director of "The Man Who Fell to Earth" ('76) and "Gerace" ('79), who is a "wizard of the moving image". Donald Sutherland plays the archaeologist John, and Julie Christie ("Doctor Zhivago") ('65) plays his wife Laura. Alan Scott and Chris Bryant adapted the short story "Don't Look Now" by Daphni du Maurier, a novelist known for her Hitchcock films. The music is by Pino Donaggio ("Carrie" ('76) and "The Killing Dress" ('80)). The long-awaited UHD BD release features a 4K digital restoration master supervised by cinematographer Anthony Richmond, who also supervised the restoration and grading of the film. --John and his wife Laura, an English archaeologist, are on vacation when their daughter Christine "drowns" in a pond near their vacation home. A few months later, John and his wife Laura are visiting Venice, the "City of Water," for work. At a restaurant, they meet two elderly sisters, Wendy and Heather. Heather, a blind medium, tells Laura that she has lost her daughter and that her daughter wears a "red raincoat. The next morning, Laura receives word that her son Johnny has been injured at boarding school, and she hurriedly returns to London. John remained alone in Venice. He rushes after them, but loses sight of them... UHD BD+BD 2-disc set; UHD BD is in Dolby Vision. In addition to the re-recording of bonus footage from the previous release, the UHD BD set includes new extras such as an audio commentary by director Nicholas Roeg and a new "Pass The Warning" documentary on the making of the film featuring interviews with David Cronenberg and Danny Boyle, who both admit to being big fans of Roeg's work.
