"Ai no Wakakusa Monogatari" (based upon a Louisa May Alcott's famous novel "Little Women") is an animated television series that aired in 1987 as the 13th series of "The World Masterpiece Theater. This long-awaited album is a compilation of its theme songs and BGM on two CDs.

The music is composed by Kazuo Otani, a keyboardist and arranger for the rock band SHOGUN, who also composed music for the anime "Cat's Eye" and others. The music, with its elegant humor and graceful fragrance, colors the story of Jo and her four sisters.

The background music for this work was only released on Vinyl LP and cassette tape at the time of broadcast, and this is the first time it has been released on CD. All songs, including music release for the first time, have been recorded completely in stereo.
Also included are record-size and TV-size versions of the four theme songs, and original karaoke versions of the two opening theme songs!
Booklet includes commentary, BGM list, airplay list, etc.
