BEST SCORE SEMI-FINALIST 2007 MOONDANCE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL Composer-produced CDR.
Track ListThe Appearance of Things is an intricate ensemble drama set in contemporary Los Angeles around an avant-garde production of Oscar Wilde's Salome where women exclusively play all of the central roles.
The director of the production casted an appropriately gorgeous starlet, Madeline Chereau, to play Salome, even though to date she has shown very limited acting ability in a handful of slasher films. His choice for Salome has angered his long time girlfriend to whom he gave the least attractive role, Herodias. To play Herod the director hired his cousin whose husband is funding the production. Coincidentally, the husband also directed one of the slasher movie in which Madeline played.
One day, Madeline allows her boyfriend to discover that she is being unfaithful. This is the first in a serie of rash and willful actions which set off a chain of events resembling the action of Salome, and soon the relationship between all of those involved in the production begins to mirror the ancient themes and conflicts of the orignal play.
