Enjoying a long-standing association with Silva Screen Records, Signature is Debbie’s ninth album on the label, following high-profile popular releases such as A Poet In New York, Wolf Hall and Dickensian. With this album, Debbie Wiseman celebrates her 60th Birthday and her long distinguished artistic career in the world of TV, film and concert music. The concert will be broadcast on Classic FM.

Debbie says: "To have the opportunity of conducting the CBSO with some of my favourite music and scores composed for film, TV, royalty, Classic FM and special occasions is the best birthday gift I could ever imagine. I have long admired the CBSO - their orchestral sound is naturally glorious, rich and dramatic, and to be able to collaborate with this world-class orchestra on this live album is a dream come true. I truly feel as though all my birthdays have come at once!"

Released on 30th June on Silva Screen Records in physical and digital formats and sponsored by Viking, Signature premieres ‘Onwards’, a new, inspired piece written specially for Viking, following on from her original well-loved Viking signature music ‘The Traveller’. Signature features a selection of Debbie Wiseman’s most popular pieces with new orchestral arrangements specially created for the prestigious CBSO. The orchestra is also conducted by the composer herself, making the event even more memorable for both the composer and CBSO, as well as Debbie’s faithful fans. Other highlights from the album include ‘Wolf Hall’, ‘A Lustre To This Day’ (originally written for the acclaimed British cellist Steven Isserlis), ‘Elizabeth Remembered’ (music featured on the BBC’s coverage of the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II), and ‘Charles III’, (piece commissioned by Classic FM for station’s programming in the leadup to the King’s Coronation).

Debbie Wiseman OBE is one of the UK’s most successful female music ambassadors with over 200 film and TV credits. Debbie is Classic FM’s Composer in Residence and was voted the nation’s most popular living composer in the 2022 Classic FM Hall of Fame.

Debbie was the composer, musical director and co-conductor of the 2022 Platinum Jubilee Celebration, A Gallop Through History. A 75-piece Tri-Service orchestra and a cast of thousands from across the Commonwealth entertained the Queen in the grounds of Windsor Castle. In 2012, as part of the Diamond Jubilee River Pageant, Debbie was one of eleven composers commissioned to write new Water Music and conducted an on-board orchestra travelling down the River Thames on a barge as part of a 1,000-strong flotilla. Debbie also composed the ‘Overture and Finale’ for The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration at Windsor in 2016 and the tender and contemplative ‘Elizabeth Remembered’, played many times during the BBC’s live coverage of the national mourning and since released as a charity single for the benefit of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust. Debbie has since been commissioned to compose two new pieces for the Coronation of King Charles III in May 2023. The pieces will be performed by the Westminster Abbey choir and organ, and the wonderful Ascension Choir, the Gospel Choir that performed at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding.

Debbie’s most recent three albums - The Glorious Garden, The Mythos Suite, and The Music of Kings and Queens - all went to number 1 in the UK Classical Chart.

Over the years the press has been supportive of Debbie’s work and here are some excerpts from reviews of the music featured in the concert:

Wilde

“Wiseman gives free rein to her most romantic sensibilities in a sensitive musical portrayal of Oscar Wilde’s incompatible loves; the heartfelt affection for his wife and children, the destructive passion for Lord Alfred Douglas.” - Gramophone Magazine

“A moving orchestral work” - Empire Magazine

Tom’s Midnight Garden

“Debbie Wiseman’s symphonic score to Willard Carroll’s screen version of Tom’s Midnight Garden is every bit as magical and mysterious as Philippa Pearce’s Carnegie Medal-winning children’s novel.” - Classic FM Magazine

“Full of real joy, this is a beautifully orchestrated and structured score…” - Film Review

Wolf Hall

“Composer Debbie Wiseman offers up a score that is simply brilliant. The score has simple instrumentation that fits perfectly, but most of all the melodies are so emotionally on point that every narrative nuance can be felt.” - F.M.M.
