Ichikawa Ebizo stars in the film "HARA-KIRI: Death of a Samurai," with music by Ryuichi Sakamoto. The original soundtrack is now available on vinyl for the first time!
The soundtrack for "HARA-KIRI: Death of a Samurai," a remake of the 1962 film "Seppuku" directed by Takashi Miike, is based on the novel "Ibun R?nin-ki" by Yasuhiko Takiguchi, and expresses the conflict between poverty and the honor of the samurai with a melancholic theme. The main theme is performed with a variety of instruments, including strings, piano, and oboe, casting different shadows on each scene and giving the music various aspects through variations. Comes as a heavyweight 2LP set.
