Ryuichi Sakamoto | Opus (4LP)

Ryuichi Sakamoto's last solo piano concert work, “Opus,” a feature-length concert film that is also being released nationwide, is now on Vinyl!

Ryuichi Sakamoto passed away on March 28, 2023, and left behind his last piano solo concert work “Opus” before his passing.
The 20 songs selected by Sakamoto include the classic “Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence,” songs from Sakamoto's last album “12,” and “Tong Poo” from his YMO days, which was performed for the first time as a piano solo.
The film has been a big hit around the world, having been screened at the Venice International Film Festival, the New York Film Festival, and the Tokyo International Film Festival, and drawing 40,000 people in its 10-day release in South Korea.
The film was made by a crew in which Sakamoto had full confidence, including director Neo Sora, cinematographer Bill Kirstein, sound recordist ZAK, editor Takuya Kawakami, and lighting designer Yukiko Yoshimoto.
