This live-action film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Edogawa Rampo Prize-winning author Keisuke Sone depicts the bizarre fate of characters who never should have met, yet become entangled in a complex web of relationships triggered by "100 million yen" and gradually transform into "beasts" driven by greed. Following its world premiere at the highly acclaimed "30th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN)," the film was officially selected for the Feature Film Competition at the "30th Fantasia International Film Festival" in Canada, where it won the Best Editing Award.
Directing this film is Hideo Shirozane, who has earned high acclaim at film festivals both in Japan and abroad, including the Tokyo International Film Festival, the Porto International Film Festival, the Udine Far East Film Festival, and the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival.
The screenplay was co-written by Hideo Shirozane and Yasuko Kobayashi, a hit-maker who has worked on numerous tokusatsu and anime projects and has expanded her reach into live-action films with "Rohan Kishibe Goes to the Louvre" (2023) and "Rohan Kishibe Doesn't Move: The Confessional" (2025). The music is composed by Goro Yasukawa, who previously teamed up with Director Shirozane on *Rainy Day Stranger*. In this film as well, he heightens the story with music brimming with a sense of survival. Additionally, the soundtrack album features a special inclusion of two tracks from the film's score, "Battle Without Honor or Humanity"!!
