35 NEN ME NO LOVE LETTER (35 YEARS OF LOVE LETTER)

Heart-warming and moving true story. A human drama about the life of an illiterate husband and the wife who taught him to be happy.

The main character Tamotsu Nishihata has grown up without being able to read and write due to a harsh childhood. His firm wife, Kyoko Shiroko, supported him throughout his life. They have lived their lives as if they were close to each other. On the occasion of his retirement, Tamotsu decides to do something. He writes a ‘love letter’ to his beloved wife, expressing his gratitude for all she has done for him - and the long struggle of Tamotsu, now over 60, begins.
The main character Tamotsu is played by Shofukutei Tsurube, his wife Shiroko by Harada Tomoyo, and the young Nishihata and his wife are played by Shigeoka Daiki (West.) and Kamishiraishi Mone. The film is directed and written by Tsukamoto Renpei, who also wrote the screenplay for "Kyo mo Iyagarase Bento". The music is composed by Taro Iwashiro, winner of the Japan Academy Prize for Best Music for "Fukushima 50" and "Cinema no Kamisama". In this film, too, the warm, heart-warming music gently accompanies the story and resonates in the heart.
