Directed by Shinzo Katayama ("Sagasu," "Gannibal") and based on the novel by Yoshiharu Tsuge ("Nejishiki," "The Incompetent One")
Track ListA crazy, sad, original and bizarre love story starring the talented actors Ryo Narita, Eriko Nakamura and Go Morita!
The soundtrack will be released on November 20th!
Shinzo Katayama, who studied as an assistant director to Pon Joon-ho, the director of "Parasite," the first Asian film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture, has created a succession of sensational films in the Japanese film industry, including his feature film debut "Cape Brothers and Sisters" (2006), "Sagasu" (2010), and "Gannibal" (2011). He has adapted a short story by legendary manga artist Yoshiharu Tsuge, known for "Nejishiki" and "Mujin no Hito," which marks his 70th anniversary this year, to film. The film is a surrealist work unique to Yoshiharu Tsuge, and was nominated for the PRIX DU PATRIMOINE (Heritage Award), which is given to works that should go down in history at the Angouleme International Manga Festival in France, one of the largest manga festivals in Europe, in 2024. Based on this heretical work, director Shinzo Katayama has created an original and bizarre love story. The two men and a woman who are the bearers of this love are played by Narita Ryo, Nakamura Eriko, and Morita Go, all talented actors, who give their all in their performances.
The music composed by Hiyoko Takai, who has also composed music for Katayama's "The Brothers of the Cape" and "Sagasu". The nostalgic, expressive, and fantastical music invites us into a mysterious world.
