A film adaptation of writer Tei Nakajo's short story collection "Aimitagai" starring Haru Kuroki.
Track ListThis is a warm story that gently illuminates ordinary days by evoking the spirit of "mutual help" that lies dormant in everyone's heart.
Based on the short story "Aimitagai," Masahide Ichii of "Typhoon Family" (2019) created the framework for the screenplay, and the late Kiyoashi Sasabe of "Tsure ga Utsu ni Natta Shite." (2011), and director Shogo Kusano, who inherited the project from the late Kiyoshi Sasabe, who poured his heart and soul into it, has turned it into a single film. The film is an ensemble piece that centers on the protagonist Azusa, who has come to a standstill after losing her best friend who was an irreplaceable part of her life, and the chain of unexpected encounters that form a large circle. The lead actress, Haru Kuroki, plays the main character with great subtlety, and the talented cast includes Aoi Nakamura, Souko Fujima, Mitsuko Kusabue, Tamae Ando, Toshio Matsumoto, Takeshi Masu, Naomi Nishida, Tomorowo Taguchi, and Jun Fubuki, who all contribute to the ensemble of human drama. The music composed by Harumi Fuuki who has composed for NHK's historical drama "Sego-Don," the TV series "Massan," and "Maiagare!" and the youngest ever winner of the 36th Japan Academy Prize for Best Music for "Waga Haha no Ki" (Chronicle of My Mother). The warmth of the music, including gentle acoustic melodies, nostalgic piano pieces, Dvorak's "Homeward Road" and George R. Poulton's "Aura Lee," gently accompanies the story. Also included in this release is the theme song "Yoake no My Way" sung by Haru Kuroki.
