John Barry's MASQUERADE has just been released at last!

Slick, sexy and full of twists and turns, MASQUERADE tells the story of a tangled web of greed and deception interupted - as so many things are - by the machinations of true love.

The 1988 movie is directed by Bob Swaim, who had made the acclaimed HALF MOON STREET two years earlier. Rob Lowe - then at the height of his fame, followed ST.ELMO'S FIRE and THE OUTSIDERS - plays Tim Whalen, skipper of a yacht owned by a local millionaire - whose wife - played by Kim Catrall, famous today for being one of the SEX & THE CITY's sirens) happens to be having an affair with him. Meg Tilly is Olivia Lawrence, who had just inherited a 200 million dollar fortune but cannot enjoy its fruits due to her overbearing stepfather (John Glover), and is the subject of a long-held crush by the local sherriff (Doug Savant).

For the score, Swaim turned to veteran composer John Barry, fresh off his last BOND movie THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS.Barry proved he had no equal when it came to sexy thrillers with BODY HEAT and that reputation was certainly enhanced still further by MASQUERADE, an entirely different but no less suitable score.
