SIDDHARTHA (Stage)

The original soundtrack to the stage production of "Siddhartha" by Jun Miyake, a composer of rare talent who, with his roots in jazz, has gone to great lengths to cross-fertilize and create music that has been missing from our time. Siddhartha" is a masterpiece inspired by Nobel Prize-winning author Hermann Hesse's visit to India in the aftermath of the two world wars. The original soundtrack of "Siddhartha", a play written by Ikue Osada, directed by Akira Shirai, with music by Jun Miyake, and starring Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, was released! The soundtrack features field recordings made in India, including a woman's voice praying in the Ganges River, performances and songs recorded at Indian festivals and street corners, and performances by master musicians such as Vincent Segal, Constance Luzzatti, an elite string ensemble from Paris led by Ayako Tanaka, Masaki Hayashi, Masahiro Itami, Watanabe and others, The multi-layered sound is further enhanced by the Sanskrit vocals of the performers and Kyoko Katsunuma.
