The reality is that the cause of death, which is common in other countries, has not yet been fully investigated in Japan. Even now, the truth of many deaths remains shrouded in darkness. In order to break through this situation, it was decided to introduce the U.S. cause-of-death investigation system. MEJ (Medical Examiner Japan), a forensic team newly established under the leadership of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, has the authority to investigate the cause of death, including ordering the police to investigate and deciding on autopsies. The team not only uncovers the "hidden truth" with scientific knowledge and sharp deductions, but also faces the "feelings of those left behind" that lie ahead.
