Intrada proudly presents original soundtrack from Brett A. Hart desert thriller with Luke Goss, Lance Henriksen, Dee Wallace. Scott Glasgow writes score with spotlight on brittle, arid landscape. By no means, however, does composer reduce material to mere atonality. Complex series of motifs evolve from very climate, terrain portrayed on screen: sounds of “plucked cactus”, other brushed, scraped colors all play role in dramatic tone poem. As longer ideas unwind, smaller motifs emerge within. Harmonic vernacular is sparse, challenging. Final three movements played by FILMharmonic Orchestra of Prague add further weight, form substantial 15-minute “Retribution Symphony”!
