Dimensione Violenza is the controversial and fascinating 1984 documentary directed by Mario Morra, legendary editor behind masterpieces of Italian cinema such as Nuovo Cinema Paradiso. Inspired by the classic Italian mondo movies of the 1960s and 1970s, the film explores the darker side of humanity through shocking rituals, violent customs and extreme social behaviours from around the world.

Enhancing the film,s unsettling and hypnotic atmosphere is the remarkable soundtrack written, arranged and performed by Daniele Patucchi, a prolific musician, producer and conductor active in countless Italian productions since the early 1970s. The result is one of his most fascinating and unexpected works: a sonic journey suspended between cosmic electronics, ambient textures and synth-pop atmospheres, recalling both the elegant sophistication of The Alan Parsons Project and the hypnotic electronic landscapes of Klaus Schulze.

The album opens with a delicate solo piano theme, romantic and melancholic, whose melody gradually reappears throughout the soundtrack transformed into atmospheric electronic passages, synthesizer-driven grooves and cinematic ambient soundscapes. A surprisingly modern score balancing darkness and melody, now regarded as one of the hidden gems of the Cinevox Record catalogue.

Originally released on vinyl by Cinevox Record in 1984 in an extremely rare and highly sought-after edition, Dimensione Violenza is finally available again in a brand-new official reissue featuring newly remastered audio by Claudio Fuiano and refreshed artwork, presented on clear red vinyl for soundtrack enthusiasts and collectors of classic Italian library music and cult cinema scores.
