INFORMERS, The (Score)

Original soundtrack from Joel Coen & Ethan Coen spy tale with profuse dark comic touches, starring George Clooney, Frances McDormand, Brad Pitt. Carter Burwell writes with meld of real percussion sensibility, dark-tinged melody. Customary for composer, unique harmonic vernacular is strong, even during transparent moments. While movie has funny touches, Burwell scores with straight face. Cues with plethora of percussion are striking.
