First CD release of the Complete Soundtrack from the 1973 John Sturges' western, starring Charles Bronson, Jill Ireland, Marcel Bozzuffi, Ettore Manni and Jose Nieto. Chino Valdez is a loner horse breeder living in the old west. Partly a loner by choice, and partly because, being a 'half-breed', he finds himself unwelcome almost everywhere he goes. One day, a young runaway named Jimmy shows up at his door looking for work and a roof over his head. Reluctantly, Chino agrees to take him in and teach him the art of raising, breaking and breeding horses, until the pair finally begin to accept each other. The meaning and relevance of this movie's 'Chino' title is that Chino refers to the first name of the central character, Chino Valdez, played by Charles Bronson. The title 'Valdez, the Halfbreed' refers to this character's mixed Native American Indian / white European genealogy. Moreover, the title 'The Valdez Horses' refers to Chino's equine herd that he tames, breeds and trains.
