HIBIKI: Yasushi Akutagawa no Ongaku Sekai

Composer Yasushi Akutagawa, the third son of literary giant Ryunosuke Akutagawa, was born in 1925. Influenced by Akira Ifukube, Akutagawa composed numerous orchestral works as well as music for television and film. He was also active as a TV and radio music program host, as well as the chairman of the Japan Copyright Association. He was a star composer of his time. In this album, we newly record his early masterpiece, the String Quartet, and his late masterpiece, "Hibiki" for organ and orchestra. The album also includes his masterpieces for orchestra and theme of Ako Roushi from his youth. This is a perfect album to get to know the whole picture of the composer, Yasushi Akutagawa.
