The fifties were a moment in time. It was when the American nation was pretty much culturally on the same page. People were conformists, connected and prosperous. New York City was the centre of the world and everything started there.

The television series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” recreates that time centering on the life of a fictitious Jewish American Princess ? newly-married Miriam Maisel, who, following the souring of her marriage discovers that she has a natural gift for stand up comedy.

Throughout the show, music plays an important part in propelling the story along.
