JOHN BARRY: THE MAN, THE MUSIC, THE MOVIES

Considered by many to be one of the 20th century’s greatest film music composers, John Barry could never really shake off his association with the James Bond franchise. In this release which examines his earliest film music recordings, and on the 50th anniversary of the first James Bond film, Dr. No, we examine how John tended to cannibalise his own work.

This album carefully looks at his influences and posits the view that he frequently went back to rework some of his earlier ideas which transformed into later - but somehow similar to earlier works - for later scores.
