In December 2024, Kazuo Funaki, who is still going strong with his fans, will celebrate the 80th anniversary of his birth!
To commemorate this, a special Blu-ray box with a special binding presents the still highly popular tragic love trilogy of ‘Zessho’, ‘Yubute’ and ‘Zansetsu’ from Kazuo Funaki's Nikkatsu films!
The Blu-ray box set includes the tragic love trilogy of Zesshou, Yubue and Zansetsu, which are still very popular among fans from among Kazuo Funaki's Nikkatsu starring films, which will celebrate the 80th anniversary of his birth in December 2024.

12 December 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of Kazuo Funaki's birth! A series of commemorative projects will be carried out in the memorial year!
Kazuo Funaki, a master of youth songs who made his debut in 1963 with the single ‘Koukou Sannen’ and continues to live on with his fans, is currently developing various projects to commemorate his 80th birthday on 12 December 2024. On 11 December, a best album of 35 songs in commemoration of his 80th birthday was released (‘80th Birthday Commemoration Kazuo Funaki Special Collection’ (Nippon Columbia)), and concerts in Omiya in January, Yokohama, Katsushika and Ichinomiya in February, Osaka and Kobe in March and other places in Japan are scheduled one after another! The Kazuo Funaki Exhibition 2024 79-80 will also be held at the Tokyo Bellesalle Higashi-Ginza!

Three particularly popular Nikkatsu films starring Kazuo Funaki have been released in DVD boxes!
The pure love masterpiece ‘Zesshou’, planned by Kazuo Funaki himself and adapted and directed by Katsumi Nishikawa, director of "Tomo wo Okuru Uta", based on the original story by Kenji Oe; the pure love gem "Yubue", in which Kazuo Funaki, who had a big hit with "Zesshou", plays a high school student and depicts a faint and fleeting tragic love with Chieko Matsubara, a daughter of an old family; and the final film following those two films, and a tragic love story. The final film in the trilogy, and the definitive tragic love classic, "Zansetsu", is released in a specially bound DVD box supervised by Kazuo Funaki!
