MAGI RANDAGI (aka WE FREE KINGS) is a 1996 movie directed by Sergio Citti, based upon an idea by Pier Paolo Pasolini and starring Silvio Orlando, Rolf Zacher, Patrick Bauchau, Gastone Moschin, Laura Betti, Ninetto Davoli, Mario Cipriani, Brigitte Christensen, Elide Melli, Sasha Altea, Vera Gemma, Nadia Carlomagno.

A traveling show of men dressed as mobsters and Nazis is the singular spectacle of three acrobats. The three artists, however, are not understood and are forced to flee. They found a role in a nativity scene, where they play as the Kings Magi: the Italian acrobat (Orlando) becomes Melchior, the German acrobat plays as Gaspare (Zacher), the French acrobat becomes Baldassarre (Bauchau). Their interpretation is so successful to convince the people to give birth to new children. One night, suddenly a comet appears in the sky and the three undertand to have an important task to do: searching for the new baby Jesus.

In order to capture the whole side of the story, the sacred and the profane together, Ennio Morricone wrote the main theme with a funny saltarello, which alternates with a mystic and romantic motif of extreme sweetness, performed by female voice and the intervention of the Ciaramella, a popular bagpipe instrument. For the first time, since its first publication in 1996, this OST is now back to the market, with a better sound and two previously unreleased tracks, from the stereo master tapes, approved by Maestro Morricone. --- from the label.
