The Godfather of Japanese punk, Kan Mikami, the famous drummer Ryojiro Furusawa, and the bassist Hisashi Anzai (Kitaro), known for his work with Itaru Oki's band, worked together for a very short time in 1973 to create "Mikami Kan to Aobajo". This soundtrack CD album is composed of 40 takes used in the film and 21 takes not used in the film as bonus tracks from the 99 tracks of the 6mm master soundtrack tapes of "Neon Kurage" and "Neon Kurage Shinjuku Hana Densha" left at Toei. DISC-1 "Neon Kurage" features music by Kan Mikami, and DISC-2 "Neon Kurage Shinjuku Hana Densha" features music by Kan Mikami and pianist Takeshi Shibuya. Both are very valuable because they contain many free jazz and jazz-rock takes performed by Mikami Kan and Aobajo, with Tsuyoshi Shibuya on piano and Akira Sakata and Seiichi Nakamura on saxophones, in addition to the theme song and insert song sung by Kan Mikami.
