THE MAKANAI: COOKING FOR THE MAIKO HOUSE

The original soundtrack from the Netflix drama series "THE MAKANAI: COOKING FOR THE MAIKO HOUSE" music composed by Yoko Kanno.
The soundtrack begins with the cute humming of the main character Kiyo (Nanana Mori) in the intro, followed by Kanno's own piano performance, as well as a gathering of the familiar musical members of Kanno's works, to complete the 32 songs that make for a great listening experience.
Based on a very popular comic by Aiko Koyama, which won the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award and has sold over 2.7 million copies in total. The drama is directed by Hirokazu Koreeda, one of Japan's most internationally acclaimed directors, who won the Palme d'Or, the highest award at the Cannes International Film Festival, for his "Shoplifters". This is the first time that Yoko Kanno has worked with Koreeda since "Umimachi Diary".
