HACHIGATSU NO KOE O HAKOBU OTOKO

Yasuaki Shimizu’s original soundtrack for the 80th-anniversary postwar drama "HACHIGATSU NO KOE O HAKOBU OTOKO" (The Man Who Carries the Voice of August).
Based on the true story of journalist Akihiko Ito?who lived in Nagasaki and traveled throughout Japan to document the testimonies of atomic bomb survivors, "HACHIGATSU NO KOE O HAKOBU OTOKO" (The Man Who Carries the Voice of August). is a 80th-anniversary postwar drama depicting the encounters and memories brought about by the atomic bombing. Broadcast on NHK in 2025, the drama garnered a huge response and received high acclaim, winning the Grand Prize in the Television Category at the 63rd Galaxy Awards and the 34th Hashida Award. The theatrical version, which includes new scenes not featured in the broadcast version and offers a deeper, more multidimensional portrayal of the characters’ inner lives, will be released in theaters nationwide starting Friday, August 21, 2026.
