COAST GUARD, The

Paado (Wave) (Track 20) offers a simple rhythmic beat combined with strong melody and the mesmerizing vocals of Lee Seung Yeol. Lee is a former member of the legendary Korean modern rock band You And Me Blues which set off a big fan craze with their melancholic, masculine appeal.

Director Kim Ki Duk (Time), known for his non-mainstream art movies and controversial remarks, collaborates with Korea's hottest heartthrob Jang Dong Gun (Taegukgi) in The Coast Guard. A regular on the film festival scenes, Kim garnered a series of international spotlights with his militant flick The Coast Guard, which was chosen as the opening picture for the 2002 Pusan International Film Festival. The Coast Guard entails the gripping emotional tale of private Kang (Jang Dong Gun) whose life turns haywire when he kills a civilian whom he mistakes for a North Korean spy.
