Run! Become the incarnation of rage - pursue! Chase me! To the end of man's sorrow...
* In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Ken Takakura's death. The long-awaited 4K version of this super-entertaining action drama starring Ken Takakura and co-starring Yoshiko Nakano and Yoshio Harada!
* 4K Digital Restoration Ultra HD Blu-ray [HDR Version] & 4K Digital Restoration Blu-ray 2-disc set.
The Blu-ray is recorded in HD resolution using the SDR master.
A new master was created with the aim of restoring the original color design by referring to the timing data of the time, past masters, and films for screening.
Both the SDR and HDR versions (included in Ultra HD-Blu-ray) use the latest graded new master supervised by Director of Photography Masahiro Miyajima, a Daiei graduate who has worked on numerous 4K grading projects.
In addition, the audio of the feature film is dubbed from a newly discovered magnetic sound source master, achieving a higher sound quality than the conventional optical sound source master.
The latest restoration version with digitization and noise reduction at 96kHz/24bit has restored the dynamic and delicate sound design of the film, especially in the high and low frequency range. (The Urrta HD Blu-ray contains the film in its original 96kHz/24-bit format.)
* Including the original soundtrack of "KIMI YO FUNDO NO KAWA WO WATARE (MANHUNT)" previously unreleased score!
The soundtrack soundtrack, which was discovered in the process of investigating a warehouse for the UHD version of the film, is now available on CD for the first time!
The soundtrack music by Hachiro Aoyama, who worked on "Shinkansen Dai Bakaku" and other major films, is recorded for the first time in Japan as a pure music-only soundtrack.
This is the first CD release from the master tape (6mm).
The two main themes released in the past as single LPs are also included as separate mixes (mono) for the feature film.
* The special feature film is also included for the first time on CD, including a newly discovered special feature film!
Special features (first time ever *restored version) and trailers. All in 4K HDR (included in the Ulta-HD Blu-ray). Blu-ray also includes a shortened version of the international version (117 minutes, first time included), footage from the production announcement press conference, and footage from location interviews (courtesy of Spoichi Creates, first time included).
The original negative film was dismantled when the film was first released, and many cuts were converted to trailer negatives and re-edited, so the special features have been stored for a long time in a missing state.
* [Limited first edition privilege] Outer sleeve case is included.
* KADOKAWA delivers the highest quality 4K UHD.
The film is presented in 4K UHD with the highest quality by KADOKAWA, bringing to your hand the detailed images and clear sound extracted from the original 35mm negative film.
This is the early period after Daiei went bankrupt and Tokuma Shoten took over the management of the company, becoming the so-called "Tokuma Daiei".
It was the first film by Nagata Masakazu to return to the film industry, and created quite a stir.
In 1979, it became the first foreign film to be released in China after the Cultural Revolution, and was a huge hit.
Ken Takakura and Yoshiko Nakano became popular actors in China.
