With a mission to bring you soundtrack music in a new way, Commotion is pleased as punch to launch its retrospective and compilation Film Music Series with Nathan Larson's Filmmusik, a collection of his touted work.

The former lead guitarist for the influential art-punk band Shudder to Think, composer Nathan Larson continues to create highly acclaimed and challenging work, and has scored more than a dozen groundbreaking and award-winning films.

Known for his versatile ability to write and perform a number diverse genres and unique instruments, Nathan's music ranges from the sweet and subdued, to alt rock, to ambient, to glam, to bluesy, to world music, and the list continues...

His band's early scores for HIGH ART and FIRST LOVE LAST RITES (on which Nathan wrote and/or produced tracks featuring such artists as Billy Corgan, Jeff Buckley and Liz Phair) earned rave reviews, as did his songwriting for Todd Haynes' VELVET GOLDMINE. Nathan's score for 20th Century Fox's BOYS DON'T CRY established him as a film-scoring force on his own.

Nathan's additional film credits include Todd Solondz's STORYTELLING and PALINDROMES; Joel Schumacher's TIGERLAND and PHONE BOOTH; Lukas Moodyson's LILJA 4-EVER; Stephen Frears' DIRTY PRETTY THINGS; THE WOODSMAN; and LITTLE FISH starring Cate Blanchett.
