Gli intoccabili (1969), directed by Giuliano Montaldo, is a tense and spectacular crime thriller set in the world of gambling and the Mafia in America. A robber recently released after a lengthy prison sentence becomes embroiled in a dark plot involving a million-dollar Las Vegas robbery, but the situation escalates when the balance between rival clans and the masterminds behind the scheme is shattered. Through chases, double-crosses, and violent score-settling, the film builds a hard-edged, tightly paced narrative in which no one is truly safe.

Ennio Morricone's original score amplifies the film's atmosphere with a mix of tension, groove, and more lyrical moments. The musical themes alternate between energy and unease, accompanying the action and noir mood with the unmistakable signature of the Maestro, making the music a central element of the film's identity.
