Japanese auteur Koreeda Hirokazu directs his first Korean-language film Broker. The human drama revolves around various characters who meet because of a "baby box," a safe drop-off point for people to anonymously give up newborns. Song Kang Ho (Parasite) and Kang Dong Won (Peninsula) play brokers who find parents for abandoned babies in the black market, while Bae Doo Na (Air Doll) is a police detective pursuing them. Singer-actor IU (Shades of the Heart) plays the mother of a "baby box" baby who unexpectedly joins the two brokers on their trip to meet prospective new parents.
The soundtrack of Broker features a score by award-winning composer Jung Jae Il, who created the music for Parasite and Squid Game.
