Vocalion proudly present two premiere CD reissues of albums by Henry Mancini & His Orchestra. Originally released in 1972 and 1974 respectively, they are from the catalogue he built up during his more than twenty-year tenure at RCA Victor, which had begun in 1959 when he achieved the first of his eight gold albums with ''The Music from Peter Gunn.'' 1972's ''The Mancini Generation'' focuses on Mancini's skill as a writer for big band, whilst 1974's ''Hangin' Out with ...'' is an orchestral outing that includes commercial recordings of several themes from various Mancini film scores of the '70s. Remastered from the original stereo tapes for Vocalion's trademark crystal-clear sound quality. 21 tracks.
