LAST DON, The

Bellchant Records presents the original music score to THE LAST DON, the 1997 television mini-series directed by Graeme Clifford, from the novel written by Mario Puzo (THE GODFATHER), featuring an all-star cast including Danny Aiello, Joe Mantegna, Daryl Hannah, Jason Gedrick, Penelope Ann Miller, Robert Wuhl, Kirstie Alley, Christopher Meloni, Seymour Cassel, Burt Young and Cliff DeYoung, featuring music composed by Angelo Badalamenti (TWIN PEAKS) and Roger Bellon (HIGHLANDER: THE SERIES).

A sprawling, multi-generational saga, Mario Puzo’s THE LAST DON traces the career of Don Domenico Clericuzio, America’s most powerful Mafia don, as he expands his family’s underworld control from the violent streets of New York City to the glittering gambling palaces of Las Vegas and the dream-filled backlots of Hollywood. In a world where loyalties run deep and betrayals are brutally revenged, passions can be, and often are, deadly. Yet, at the heart of the tale is a family, it’s ambitions, loves, deceptions and sacrifices, as it is guided by the Don for three generations, from infamy to legitimacy.

For THE LAST DON, Angelo Badalamenti was hired to write the main thematic material and Roger Bellon adapted his themes and composed and conducted the score for the mini-series, which was recorded at Paramount Studios using a 75 piece orchestra..
