Keiichiro Shibuya releases his latest album, "ATAK030 Threshold".
This album originated from music originally composed for the NHK Special "Critical World: ON THE EDGE", a flagship production created by NHK to commemorate the 100th anniversary of its first broadcast. The documentary series has been airing since February 2025 and won the Excellence Award in the News Reporting category at the 63rd Galaxy Awards. Shibuya’s music, which stands in stark contrast to the vivid, immersive footage that delves deep into and closely follows the raw realities of increasingly turbulent regions around the world?such as war zones, refugee crises, and economic crises?generated a huge response immediately after the broadcast. This album was created by reimagining the music originally composed to reflect these extreme global realities and the people living within them.
With mixing by ZAK and mastering by Stewart Hawkes at Metropolis Studios in London, the album unfolds a diverse sonic world in exceptionally high resolution.
