180 Gram Vinyl. Limited to 600 copies Released in 1972, Bernardo Bertolucci’s Last Tango in Paris is one of the most popular erotic drama movies ever made, and has always been subject to controversy and rejection; great works of art are used to that, one might say, and maybe it’s not a coincidence that the film is still discussed a lot today.
Its soundtrack was written by world famous sax player Gato Barbieri and arranged by Oliver Nelson, and it beautifully blends - as of course the main title may suggest - typical tango melodies with the melancholy of orchestral arrangements and the erotic tension brought by jazz saxophone.
