DOCUMENTARY MUSIC

A collection of soundtracks for documentaries produced by NHK between 2020 and 2023 about artists such as Shinro Ohtake, Junichiro Tanizaki, and Okyo Maruyama.
The soundtracks include string-based chamber pieces (tr1, tr7), glitchy electronic sounds (tr4, tr15), a pastoral accordion piece (tr10), a dreamy piano piece with impressive reverberations (tr11), space funk (tr14), an aesthetic steelpan melody (tr 16), and a JAZZ trio (tr17), interspersed with various pieces ranging from acoustic to electronic, post-classical to funk beats, and throughout, each artist's thoughts on creativity are expressed. Includes a 12-page text booklet titled “The Essence of Art” written by Machida.
