Soundtrack of the 2024 summer special exhibition “Manyo Banka” (sponsored by the Heijokyu Ruins Administration Center and the Nara National Research Institute for Cultural Properties, Independent Administrative Institution), held at the Heijokyu Izanaikan. The dolls, created by Taku Nagase, depict historical figures and mythological gods from the Asuka to Nara periods. As part of the exhibition and production based on these figures and their historical backgrounds, pianist and composer Akiko Sakakibara was in charge of the music, which was written using musical instruments such as the koto (a reconstructed instrument) thought to have been played at the site at that time and the sound of the 8th century bronze bell itself, which was excavated.
